Functional Description
A flexible membrane with ITO coating is placed over a glass plate with the same ITO coating. Tiny spacers hold the membrane in distance to the glass plate. 4 wires are contacted to the 4 corners on the glass plate. The controller applies 5V to the corners A and B and ground to C and D. The 5th wire is connected to the membrane. By pressing to the membrane, it gives electrical contact to the glass plate. By measuring the voltage between the glass plate and the membrane, the Y coordinate is calculated. The controller then applies 5V to the corners A and C and measures again the voltage between the membrane and the glass plate and calculate the Y coordinate. |
